This is the sweet face behind Editing with Moxie. Moxie’s calm, wise, and caring spirit inspired my life and editing philosophy. Moxie was adopted at age 3 in February 2007 from the SPCA in Cincinnati, Ohio, and lived a very loving life full of adventure and lounging until May 2020. She is deeply missed but her memory and editorial insight lives on!
Before moving west in 2008, I studied English and creative writing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, tried out teaching in France, and worked in publishing in Chicago. I spent several years as an editor at Timber Press in Portland, Oregon, where I got an education in plant names, among other things. I embarked on my freelance career in the fall of 2013. I currently live, edit, and thrift (!) in London, Ontario.
